Call for abstracts for ITRN 2016 extended to 15th April
The Irish Transport Research Network (ITRN) has extended its call for abstracts for its annual conference, to be held this year at Dublin Institute of Technology (Grangegorman Campus) on the 1st and 2nd of September 2016. The deadline for abstracts is now 15th April.
Topics include but are not limited to: -
• Active travel, including cycling and walking;
• Alternative fuels for transportation e.g. compressed natural gas & biofuels;
• Logistics & freight transport e.g. railway, maritime & aviation;
• Public transport;
• Renewable energy & transport electrification;
• Smarter travel including ICT & ITS;
• Transport economics & regulation;
• Transport & environment e.g. emissions & noise;
• Transport infrastructure;
• Transport policy, planning & society;
• Transport & safety;
• Transport technology & materials.
Submission Requirements
• The deadline for acceptance of abstracts is the 15th April 2016.
• Abstracts (maximum word count 500) must be submitted via www.itrn.ie
• Authors will be notified of acceptance (or rejection) of abstracts via email by the 29th of April 2016.
ITRN2016 is an opportunity for industry, agencies, non-government organisations & academia to promote, share and discuss issues and developments in the field of transportation.
This year's conference will include: -
• a keynote address by Jarrett Walker, author of Human Transit - How Clearer Thinking about Public Transit Can Enrich Our Communities and Our Lives. Jarrett Walker consults internationally in public transport network design and blogs at: www.humantransit.org
• a workshop in public transport network design, by eminent international expert, Jarrett Walker
• a tour of Grangegorman Campus and introduction to sustainable smarter campus travel initiatives by the Grangegorman Campus Planning Team
• a display of vehicles from 1916 to the present and the future
• conference dinner on board the MV Cill Airne, Dublin Docklands
• registration for students reduced to €50
