Job description:
This role is part of the Research and Education Space (RES) project and, working to the Programme Manager and Project Director, you will primarily contribute to the continued development of the RES platform, Acropolis.
RES is an ambitious four-year project (entering its final year) led by BBC Archive Development, in partnership with Jisc and the British Universities Film and Video Council (BUFVC), which seeks to give access to the archive content of UK public institutions to those in education and learning. RES content will be made available to those in the UK education sector, both in schools and in Further and Higher Education. Third-party portals and applications will provide the interfaces to RES for end-users.
The Development Lead is expected to line manage a small team responsible for delivery of the technical component of the Research and Education Space (RES) project. The successful candidate will be able to lead and manage a highly technical team and must have a strong technical background in order to coach, support and lead the team in order to deliver solutions. The candidate must be take a balanced view on delivery of solutions between architecture, time, cost and quality and be able to communicate effectively to non-technical audiences and stakeholders.
