Hi Jon,
I completely agree. 360 and VR experiences are still in their infancy from a user interface point of view. We're still working out what does and doesn't work as a way for users to interact with these experiences. Part of that experimentation and exploration needs to include careful consideration around accessibility.
It's going to take time to establish tried and tested interfaces for these kind of experiences and a common visual language that users understand and are familiar with. Hopefully these kind of experiences will help more people to experience content that they otherwise would be unable to.

I was indeed impressed to see the accessibility improvements to AI Weiwei
360 when judging the GLAMi Awards at Museums and the Web 2016. I know that
360 video and VR is everywhere at the moment, and it can only be a good thing if GLAMs are working to improve accessibility in new techs like these.
