*****Apologies for cross posting*******
Typical search engines like Yahoo! and Google only pick up about 1% of the information available on the Internet. The rest of that information is considered to be hidden in the deep, or invisible, web. So how can you find all the rest of this information? Come along to our meeting on Wednesday 11 May 2016 at Cambridge University Library to find out how to develop these skills!
This session will cover:
* Why the general search engines miss or ignore information
* Impact of the “right to be forgotten”
* Specialist search tools for the hidden web, getting to know key resources
* A quick look at what tools are needed for data extraction and analysis
* What is the dark web (as opposed to the deep web?)
In addition, a representative from ContentMine of Cambridge will discuss the "Hargreaves" Copyright Reform (2014) which gave the UK an important legal freedom to mine any document to which the user has legal access (for non-commercial research) and demonstrate a unique Open system that allows anyone to carry out such mining.
