Dear colleagues,
The European Network on Statelessness (ENS) is organising a three day event to engage with young socially conscious and active participants who are motivated to help end childhood statelessness. The event will take place at the Maastricht University Campus in Brussels between 11 and 13 July 2016.
Currently thousands of children born in Europe are growing up without the protection or sense of belonging which a nationality bestows. ENS is running a region-wide campaign #StatelessKids to raise awareness and promote measures to ensure that children can realise their right to a nationality.
The upcoming youth congress will be an opportunity for a group of 35 selected young delegates (aged 18 to 28) to hear about the effects of statelessness and participate in trainings designed to equip them with skills necessary to become Youth Ambassadors supporting the #StatelessKids campaign in their own country and across Europe. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from leading experts and academics, UN agencies and Members of the European Parliament on the issue, as well as journalists, advocacy and communications experts on how to advocate for change.
To find out more about the event and how to register, please visit:

ENS will offer a limited number of travel bursaries to help participants cover travel expenses to Brussels and will provide accommodation for all participants at a Youth Hostel close to the Maastricht University Campus in Brussels.
Many thanks if you can share this with relevant contacts – including universities and student groups,
Chris Nash – Director, European Network on Statelessness
