Dear all
What would be the best method to store raw fine-sliced diffraction images in the medium term (say, up to 5 years)? I understand a RAID system offers a good backup mechanism, but for a small lab, is this not an overkill? Are tapes still used?
The structures have been solved, so we will not have a headache if a hard drive fails. For the most part, I would like to have those images to enable training of the next-generation lab colleagues and making sure our PhD students have their data for whatever reason.
Feel free to email me off-list, and I will post a summary later on.
Thanks.
Mohamed
