The Film, Sound & Photography Section (FSPS) of the Archives and Records Association is pleased to announce a FREE training event on Tuesday 22nd March 2016, held at Westminster City Archives.
Digitising Your Photographic Collections will feature two presentations. The first presentation will be from the team at Westminster City Archives, who will both introduce the fascinating photograph collections they hold and share their own experience of digitisation. While the second will be from Lisa Moore (Access Digital, University for the Creative Arts (UCA), who will briefly introduce Access Digital, UCA’s commercial digitisation service, and explore the benefits and challenges of collaborating with others when undertaking digitisation projects. There will be an informal sharing of simple digitisation processes that can be implemented at low cost and with limited technical knowledge, in addition to useful suggestions of relevant sources for advice and support.
This event is for archivists interested in planning and managing the digitisation of photographic collections. The aim is to inspire as much as to educate, and archivists of all levels and experience should find something rewarding from its content.
The programme for the event is as follows:
17.00-17.30 Welcome and networking (refreshments provided)
17.30-18.00 Presentation (Westminster City Archives)
18.00-18.45 Presentation (Lisa Moore, Access Digital, UCA)
18.45-19:00 Q&A
Places for this event are limited, so make sure to book quickly via Eventbrite - http://ow.ly/Zg2iy
Looking forward to seeing you there!
