The Statistics and Probability group at Durham University is offering an open-topic PhD position, starting October 1, 2016, for a duration of 3.5 years. The successful candidate would carry out research within a field of interest of a member of the group, see

Postgraduate students at Durham University are part of a stimulating and research-focused environment, as exemplified by postgraduate seminar series, conferences, and an extensive network of collaborations with other Departments. Students have access to high-quality postgraduate training through our membership of APTS (Academy for PhD Training in Statistics), as well as through in-house courses and training events, often organized jointly with other universities.
The successful candidate will have at least a 2:1 degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related subject with a strong quantitative component. UK students, and EU students who have been resident in the UK for the last three years, are eligible for full (tuition and stipend) funding at normal Research Council level. Other EU students are eligible for tuition only.
