Apologies for cross posting ... last 24 hours for applications!
The journal Urban Geography is looking for a new member to join its editorial team in order to manage the evaluation of special issue submissions.
This editorial role involves receiving special issue proposals, evaluating them and circulating them to the rest of the editorial team so that a group decision is taken on the relevance and appropriateness of the proposal for the journal, and managing the review process for papers submitted under the special issues. Typically the review process is performed in conjunction with the guest editors, who help in the identification of reviewers. However final decisions regarding paper acceptance and revisions required are taken by the Special Issues editor.
People interested in joining the editorial team as Special Issues editor should contact Kevin Ward (contact details below ) and supply a CV together with a brief statement (one page max.) explaining their interest in the role. We would of course be happy to discuss this with potential candidates prior to their application. It is expected that candidates will have had some editorial experience (sitting on editorial boards, editing a book, other editor positions. Depending on the candidate’s experience, the senior editors will be available for mentoring in the initial stages of the term. Typically editors’ terms are for four years, but this can vary.
Applications should be submitted by e-mail to Kevin Ward ( [log in to unmask]) by the end of the day (GMT) of 15 March 2016!
