Queen Mary University of London’s (QMUL) Centre for Academic and Professional Development (CAPD) supports the University’s mission to nurture the careers of our staff and students, specifically supporting the development of staff to enable them to deliver excellent teaching and the support of student learning. The CAPD has four teams: Educational Development, Researcher Development, Leadership and Professional Development and the E-Learning Unit. The educational development team consists of 6 educational advisers and two administrative staff.
As Senior Educational Development Adviser you will be responsible for:
• leading and championing Educational Development projects, to ensure high quality project management across Educational Development
• leading and managing the taught routes through the Academic Development Programme (ADP), leading curriculum design and development, evaluation and the day to day management of the taught elements of the ADP
• championing best practice in curriculum design and leading and facilitating curriculum development projects, working with staff in all disciplines around curriculum development and assessment and feedback, including leadership around QMUL’s Graduate Attributes programme and associated initiatives.
The successful applicant will:
• Have extensive experience of teaching, learning and assessment methodologies and curriculum development
• Have a high record of achievement in staff and educational development practice
• Have experience of programme accreditation, examination board processes, external examining or equivalent.
• Hold the award of Fellowship or Senior Fellowship of the HEA (or SEDA)
The post is full time and permanent. Starting salary will be in the range £44,327-£49,486 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Our excellent benefits package includes 30 days’ annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan and cycle to work scheme.
You must be able to demonstrate your eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
