Special Issue from the journal Advances in Dual Diagnosis<http://www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com/products/journals/journals.htm?id=ADD>
Title: Dual diagnosis and criminal justice.<http://www.emeraldinsight.com/toc/add/9/1>
Advances in Dual Diagnosis are pleased to inform that a special issue of Dual diagnosis and criminal justice has been published.
In the UK, more than 70 per cent of the prison population has two or more mental health disorders. Prisoners have elevated rates of psychiatric disorders compared with the general population, including psychosis, depression, and personality disorder and substance misuse. As a result, suicide and premature mortality rates are much higher within this demographic compared to the general population.
This special issue explores dual diagnosis and criminal justice from a range of perspectives. Topics in this issue include exploring underlying issues that aggravate conditions, the management of dual diagnosis in prisons, and proposed models of integrated care for patients.
This issue is available for download at http://www.emeraldinsight.com/toc/add/9/1
