Dear medical sociology colleagues,
An exciting new team is being created in Maastricht<http://www.maastrichtuniversity.nl/web/Misc/CES/Thema/GeneralInformation/MaastrichtTheNetherlands.htm> to study the role of technologies in how doctors learn the craft skills of their profession. Thanks to funding from the European Research Council<https://erc.europa.eu/funding-and-grants/funding-schemes/starting-grants>, three ethnographers and a historian will research this topic in Western and Eastern Europe, and West Africa. We now invite applications for two PhD ethnographers on the project.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a social scientist with a Master's degree (or one which will be completed by August) to engage in a creative, collaborative project, based in the beautiful city of Maastricht, in the Netherlands. The conditions are very generous and there will be many opportunities for travel and engagement with leading scholars in medical sociology/anthropology and STS. Further details and how to apply can be found on the Maastricht University website<http://www.maastrichtuniversity.nl/web/Main/Sitewide/Content/2PhDCandidatesSocialStudiesOfMedicine1.00Fte4Years.htm>.
Please contact me if you have any further questions. The deadline for applications is 10th April 2016.
It would be wonderful if you could disseminate this advertisement widely and encourage anybody whom you think would be well-positioned and interested to apply!
Thank you and warm regards,
Anna
