Annual Call for Papers
Global Equality and Diversity Conference
Wednesday, November 23rd 2016, Canary Wharf, London
With every company and public organisation having to make transparent their
social impact on equality and diversity, GED 2016 will give you the tools
you need to get up to speed on government policy and appreciate its impact
on your business.
2015 saw a quiet revolution in the government’s policy and attitude
towards workplace equality and diversity and many businesses and public
organisations have been caught out by the speed of change.
In his speech to the Times Business Leaders Summit on 15th July 2015, the
Prime Minister declared that “transparency” - the obligation to publish
- would apply to all businesses with over 250 employees. This has been
followed by aggressive policy demands from the Prime Minister in January
2016 for universities and other organisations to tackle diversity deficits
It is already happening across the public sector. Indeed, many smaller
contractors to government and local authorities have concluded that they
will also need to publish to get onto tender lists.Trade and Professional
Associations are advising and adapting
Equality and diversity change is increasingly driven in the court of public
opinion as well as the court of law. For HR, personal development and
talent managers as well as company secretaries, lawyers and managers that
is a big shift with big strategic implications for many organisations.
But how to research, what to publish and how to measure the impact or
explain the outcome will be critical questions as recognition grows that
effective equality and diversity in the workforce and facing customers is a
competitive edge issue.
We invite
Paper abstracts of no more than 500 words addressing the topics relevant to
the theme of the conference.
