The Forum for Research into Equality and Diversity in collaboration with the Centre for Diversity Policy Research and Practice will be holding a two-day symposium from the 15th – 16th June 2016 at the University of Chester. This symposium will workshop a number of themes around the topic of gendered experiences of research activity in higher education. The objectives of this symposium will be to re-engage with the longstanding dialogue in this area and to explore emerging discourse. It is hoped that the event will provide the opportunity for the development of networks as well as to provide the opportunity to commence discussion on recommendations and implications for practice for HEI’s in this area.

Due to funding restrictions, there are limited places available and as such an open invitation is offered to those working or interested in this area to provide their expressions of interest in attending. This should be done via a 250 word abstract setting out your current or previous work and/or interest in the area of gender equality and research activity in higher education. This should be submitted by Friday 27th February 2016 to [log in to unmask] Confirmation of an offer of a place will be communicated by Friday 18th March 2016.

Attendance at the symposium will be funded by the Forum for Research into Equality and Diversity and will include refreshments and lunch for the two days as well as a symposium dinner on the 15th June (which will provide the opportunity for further discussion and networking). Unfortunately, travel expenses and accommodation costs cannot be funded but recommendations of reasonably priced accommodation in the immediate area will be provided.

Wednesday 15th June - Thursday 16th June 2016
