Dear all,
Just to add a historical point of view to this colour debate.
Colour is not a-historical and our perception is historical too.
To reduce the choices made by designers and the 'taste' for colours to
physiologic/psychological issues is to reduce complex socio cultural
matters to biological ones.
Red, for instance, may be the demon's colour but also the santity for
catholics.
A great contribution for this debate is Michel Pastoureau's works: Bleu,
Noir, Vert, L'étoffe du diable (for stripes) and others.
best
Ethel
