The British Society for the History of Mathematics undergraduate essay prize is awarded annually for an essay on any topic in the history of mathematics. The winner receives £100, free BSHM membership for one year, and is invited to give a short talk based on their essay at the annual BSHM Research in Progress meeting.

Essays should be no more than 2500 words (excluding references). The competition is open to any person who is enrolled as an undergraduate in a UK or Irish university during the academic year 2015-16. The closing date for submissions is the 1st of July 2016.
