Yes, it crossed my mind too that this is a not too subtle way of pressurising people to revalidate. One question in my mind is whether CILIP's registration under the Data Protection Act gives it authority to publish such information - and whether members can choose to opt out of having such information listed. Anyone on the list from CILIP HQ able to comment on these points?

Subject : CILIP and its forthcoming Online Register of Practitioners
I see CILIP is proposing to launch its Online Register of Practitioners in March but is including (as is its prerogative) the member’s date of last revalidation. As a revalidation refusenik (why do it if, to quote CILIP, “you already do it!”, therefore what value does it represent anyway?) I am concerned this is a Trojan horse operation to shoehorn in “obligatory” revalidation by the back door? Anyone else share this concern?
