Job opportunity at BPP Law School – Library Manager, London Waterloo

BPP’s Library and Information Service aims to provide library services to support BPP University programmes at learning centres across the UK and online.
The role
You will have responsibility for the provision of Library and Information Services to staff and students at BPP’s learning centre at London Waterloo. You will also be responsible for delivering library services to BPP’s remotely managed library in Cambridge. You will be a member of BPP’s Library management team and will work with the Head of Library & Information Services to develop strategic plans and ensure a quality service is offered to all users.
BPP’s London Waterloo centre delivers programmes to over 2000 Undergraduate LLB and Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) students. It is also the London base of BPP’s School of Health, which delivers a range of programmes including Psychology, Dentistry and Health and Social Care.
Responsibilities will include:
Management of the London Waterloo library space and services and remote management of library services in Cambridge;
Line management of 4.3 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Information Services Assistants;
Designing and delivering face-to-face and online training programmes for students and staff;
Working with the Acquisitions and Systems Librarians to develop and maintain collections.
What we’re looking for
With a professional qualification in library or information science together with experience of developing and delivering user education and training programmes, you will have experience of providing information literacy and study skills support and an understanding of the key print and online information resources to support law programmes. You will be self-motivated with a high level of IT literacy including MS Office programmes, Library Management Systems and Virtual Learning Environments. With excellent communication skills, you will have experience of managing or supervising staff and an enthusiasm for delivering an outstanding service.
