Oggetto: Re: software to extract structural data from point clouds
Dear Massimiliano,
I would agree with others that CloudCompare is excellent. Just be aware that if you use a Mac, the facets plug-in does not operate. However, there are multiple ways of extracting structural orientation data in CloudCompare, some more laborious than others. We are working internally on improving solutions for geologists. Dear all,
I'm working for the first time on point clouds obtained by terrestrial laser scanner. I would like to make a structural analysis of rock mass discontinuities.
Do you know where I can find an open source software able to extract discontinuity planes and to plot their orientations?
thank you!
Massimiliano
