Dear all,
I hope this email finds you well. My name is Niovi Vavoula and I am Research Assistant and Ph.D. Candidate at Queen Mary, University of London.
I would like to draw your attention to our #RefugeesWelcome initiative materialised in a Refugee Week, coming up next week. Please find the programme of the events here:
http://www.law.qmul.ac.uk/research/centres/cjc/Refugee%20Week/169579.html .
In essence, we are organising two open days (15-16th February) whereby refugees and asylum seekers are invited to enjoy lunch and receive information about legal assistance, access to education and recognition of qualifications, a guest lecture by Prof. François Crépeau, the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights of migrants on the criminalisation of migrants (17th February, now FULLY BOOKED) and the free screening of the film 'Leave to Remain' followed by Q&A with the Director Bruce Goodison and Actor Noof Ousellam and a closing speech by Prof. Elspeth Guild (18th February).
If you know someone who could benefit from the advice sessions, we would be grateful if you could let them know. We are happy to reimburse travel costs on the day provided that the attendant provides receipts of their travel costs.
Furthermore, you are more than welcome to join us in the free screening of the film. The venue we have chosen is the Great Hall at QMUL which will give you a true cinema experience.
Please find below links to all the events of the Refugee Week. Feel free to circulate them wherever you wish.
