Statistical Services Unit (SSU), The University of Sheffield - closing
date 29 February 2016
The University of Sheffield delivers world-class research in Biomedical
Life Sciences across a range of academic disciplines; University
researchers are at the forefront of research in the biological and
medical sciences and contribute to developments in understanding and
treating diseases that affect both humans and other mammals. The
implementation of the 3Rs (replacement, refinement and reduction) is
implicit in this research, and offers a key area where statistical
thinking and techniques can play an important role.
The SSU, an established specialist advisory unit in the School of
Mathematics and Statistics, is looking to appoint a Senior Consultant to
extend our work with Biomedical Life Science researchers across the
University. The main focus of the role will be to support work to
improve statistical research design and respond to the 3Rs agenda, by
interacting with research groups and providing statistical advice, data
analysis and investigation, and reporting of results, alongside
contributing to the day-to-day management of projects and development of
the service within the SSU. The appointment is for three years.
