Something which has just launched (and I've just lost a good few hours too) is this Google Streetview Tour of places connected with the Irish 1916 Easter Rising, with archive photos, audio transcripts and actor Colin Farrell narrating it.

(It's not perfect, but it is very engrossing I felt - learned a lot about Irish history that I (shamefully) should have known more about)

Subject: [MCG] Best apps and games
Dear all,
A *very* general question for the beginning of 2016: what stands out for you as the best apps and games for museums/mobile/general innovativeness in this area - and equally are there fancy bits of tech that you regret or are more trouble than they are worth?
I haven't really had a play around since Wellcome's Mesmerism and Culture24/SI's VanGo Yourself, and probably there's plenty I've missed. I'm about to read Nesta's latest digital R&D report like a grownup, but also welcome a heads up for museum alternatives to Plants vs Zombies!
Cheers,
Kate
