UKAD Forum UKAD Workshops
Thursday 17 March 2016 Friday 18 March 2016
The National Archives, Kew Jisc, London
10.15am - 4.30pm 9.30am - 1.30pm
Registration is now open for the UKAD Forum and UKAD Workshops 2016 hosted by The National Archives and Jisc on behalf of the UK Archives Discovery Network (UKAD) and the Archives & Records Association (UK & Ireland)'s Section for Archives and Technology (SAT).
The two complementary events are FREE and based on the theme of DATA MATTERS!
On Thursday 17 March, the all-day Forum will include presentations and panels with plenty of opportunity for debate and discussion on data strategy, connecting data and research data management; archive, library and museum data; and subject-based data initiatives.
You are also invited to submit a poster to share with colleagues what you are doing with your own data, so please let us know when you register. If you want some inspiration, then take a look at the examples from last year's UKAD Forum 2015 which are available on the UKAD website<http://www.ukad.org/forum2015/>.
On Friday 18 March, the half-day Workshops will be more focused and hands-on, offering practical experience of data manipulation tools, data discovery systems, creating data records and uploading them to archive networks and aggregators.
The programme is available on The National Archives' website @ http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/archives-sector/engaging-with-ukad.htm
and you are welcome to come along to either or both of the events which are suitable for all levels of expertise. Please note: to actively take part in the data Workshops, you will need to bring your own laptop or device though you would be welcome simply to follow along!
Lunch and other refreshments will be provided for each event but with numbers limited, make sure you book your place as soon as possible by emailing IPS Events and Courses<mailto:[log in to unmask]> and providing the following information:
