Call for Papers
The Department of Linguistics and the Sociolinguistics Laboratory at the University of Washington are proud to host the second Cascadia Workshop in Sociolinguistics (CWSL), which will take place 23-24 April, 2016 at the University of Washington, Seattle. This student-led event has the primary aim of bringing together researchers working on sociolinguistic topics of interest to the region,Pacific Northwest and building community among sociolinguists at institutions within the region.
Talks will be 15 minutes in length with 15 minutes afterward for questions.
Abstracts are invited on any topic in sociolinguistics, including discourse analysis, linguistic anthropology, and other related fields. Abstracts should be anonymous.
Abstracts, should not exceed 300 words (excluding references), and should be submitted electronically to: [log in to unmask]
We particularly welcome submissions from students (undergraduate, honors, graduate).
Please circulate this call for papers among your colleagues and students. Submitters are advised that this year, the University of Washington will be hosting two conferencesCWSL concurrently with NWLC (the Northwest Linguistics Conference).: CWSL and NWLC (the Northwest Linguistics Conference).
