Earlier this week, police in Gainesville, Florida received a complaint
from the grumpiest person in the world we're picturing Old Man Marley,
only from Florida, so, like, ten times crazier about kids playing
basketball "loudly" on a neighborhood street.

Officer Bobby White responded to the call, and, after realizing there was
nothing amiss (and because he has not let life's inexorable march to the
grave wither his soul) he decided the best course of action was to ball up
with the kids. In other words, he's the coolest cop in the world.
.
Officer White didn't leave without doing his duty, either. After playing
basketball for around 10 minutes, which included lowering the hoop and
throwing down a rim-rattling dunk, he asked the kids to do him a favor
"Obviously I have no problem with you playing basketball, just if you can,
just try not to be too loud, you know what I mean?" and then said he'll
bring some "backup" to get a game going.

"Wow," the Police Department wrote on Facebook. "One MILLION people have
now seen Officer White's style of policing.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- If you're a Gainesville police officer, how do you
deal with a noise complaint about neighborhood kids playing basketball too
"loudly" in the street?

If you're Officer Bobby White, you shake off the cobwebs and show those
kids exactly how it's done.
.
Dashcam video showing Officer White cutting loose to shoot hoops with a
bunch of kids has gone viral since the Gainesville Police Department
uploaded it to Facebook on Thursday. It piled up nearly 2 million views in
less than 12 hours.

Officer White had been dispatched to deal with a complaint about kids
playing basketball "loudly" about 5 p.m. Jan. 15, according to GPD. But
the 911 caller must have been stunned by what happened next.

The officer, instead of admonishing the teens, can be seen grabbing the
ball and dribbling it.

A Florida police officers response to a noise complaint involving kids
playing basketball caught some big attention this weekend. No, were not
talking about the 13 million views that caused video of the incident to go
viral. Were talking about The Big Cactus himself.

Shaquille ONeal paid a surprise visit to the Gainesville Police Department
on Saturday to praise Officer Bobby White, who responded to the report of
kids playing basketball loudly in the street last Friday by approaching
the teenagers and asking them, Can you believe someones calling to
complain about kids playing basketball in the street? Can you believe
that?

At the end of the video, White walks back toward his squad car and says,
Im going to try to bring some backup out here tomorrow. Well get a little
game going.

Little did he know his backup would include one of the greatest NBA
centers of all time.

White returned to the scene Saturday, asking the kids, I told you I was
going to bring some backup, right? Look at these big boys I brought. You
sure you can take them?

Thats when ONeal, an Isleworth, Fla., resident, popped out from the
drivers seat of an SUV, removed his pullover and said, Im about to bust

A police officer in Gainesville, Fla., is going viral this week for all
the right reasons. While replying to a 911 dispatch noting noise
complaints about a group of kids playing basketball on the street last
Friday, the officer decided to play with the kids rather than yell at
them.

The police officer, who the Gainesville Police Department identifies as
Officer Bobby White, isnt the best baller around, but with a little help
from a lower rim, he manages to throw down a sweet dunk. More importantly,
though, We hope that [Officer Whites stye of policing] inspires other
officers! the department posted to Facebook after the video accrued 1
million views on Thursday.

We are overwhelmed with the amount of support. Officer White WILL try for
a full game coming soon! the department continued.

Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal (/??'ki?l/ sh?-keel; born March 6, 1972),
nicknamed Shaq (/'?/ shak), is a retired American professional basketball
player who is currently an analyst on the television program Inside the
NBA. Listed at 7 ft 1 in (2.16 m) tall[1] and weighing 325 pounds (147
kg), he was one of the heaviest players ever to play in the NBA. O'Neal
played for six teams throughout his 19-year NBA career. He was announced
as a nominee for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on December
21, 2015.[2]

Following his career at Louisiana State University, O'Neal was drafted by
the Orlando Magic with the first overall pick in the 1992 NBA draft. He
quickly became one of the best centers in the league, winning Rookie of
the Year in 199293 and later leading his team to the 1995 NBA Finals.
After four years with the Magic, O'Neal signed as a free agent with the
Los Angeles Lakers. They won three consecutive championships in 2000,
2001, and 2002. Amid tension between O'Neal and Kobe Bryant, O'Neal was
traded to the Miami Heat in 2004, and his fourth NBA championship followed
in 2006. Midway through the 20072008 season he was traded to the Phoenix
Suns. After a season-and-a-half with the Suns, O'Neal was traded to the
Cleveland Cavaliers in the 200910 season.[3] O'Neal played for the Boston
Celtics in the 201011 season before retiring.[4]

O'Neal's individual accolades include the 19992000 MVP award, the 199293
NBA Rookie of the Year award, 15 All-Star game selections, three All-Star
Game MVP awards, three Finals MVP awards, two scoring titles, 14 All-NBA
team selections, and three NBA All-Defensive Team selections. He is one of
only three players to win NBA MVP, All-Star game MVP and Finals MVP awards
in the same year (2000); the other players are Willis Reed in 1970 and
Michael Jordan in 1996 and 1998. He ranks 7th all-time in points scored,
5th in field goals, 13th in rebounds, and 7th in blocks. Largely due to
his ability to dunk the basketball, O'Neal also ranks 3rd all-time in
field goal percentage (58.2%).[5]

In addition to his basketball career, O'Neal has released four rap albums,
with his first, Shaq Diesel, going platinum. He has appeared in numerous
