11th February 2016
Assembly Hall, County Hall, Nottingham.
Why does sporting heritage matter? This event aims to raise our understanding about activity which has taken place in the UK which demonstrates sporting heritage has impact. The “impact” may be connected with increasing visitors to heritage venues; raising knowledge about sporting collections; encouraging new sports participation; or supporting a new area of work for a museum to develop. By drawing this information together in an event, where we can discuss and share ideas and learn more about how sporting heritage has relevance in today’s society, we can plan the next steps of development for the sector as a whole.
