There are several good image viewer available on Matlab. For example:
brainmagic
http://www.imagilys.com/brainmagix-spm-viewer/
Which I believe has good overlay functionality.
If you are running in the Matlab environment you might consider some of
these rather than fslview, which in my (limited in this case) experience can
be finicky outside a unix shell.
MRIcron also works very nicely on windows, mac, and linux.

Hello,
Does the equivalent two file fslview call work correctly on the
command line?
Kind Regards
