I would say in the theoretical world this shouldn't happen as they'd be accountable to themselves - the real world, however, is a different place!
Kind regards,
Andrew.

Subject: [data-protection] Information Asset Owners and SIROs
Not sure why I have not pondered this before but given that Information Asset Owners are directly accountable to the Senior Information Risk Owner and must provide assurance to the SIRO that information risk is being managed effectively in respect of the information assets that they ‘own’, is it appropriate for the SIRO to also be an Information Asset Owner?
Does anyone work in an organisation that allows or forbids this?
