Dear colleagues,
I am presenting a paper at next year's FARMER conference exploring the potential offerings social media apps could give to managing records - with the aim of challenging the traditional record keeping practices we may currently follow. While what I will be presenting will be based on my own ideas and examples, I wondered if there were any 'real life' examples out there I could refer to.
So my questions are:
Do any organisations (public/private/charity - any) proactively use/rely on records 'physically' stored in social media applications? (Ie not accessed primarily via an EDRMS, file share etc but via a social media app such as Instagram, Facebook, Reddit to name a few).
Another example - do you re-publish records stored in shared drive; sharepoint; edrms to a social media app because it is easier for users (staff/public) to access?
Do you manage records proactively as the master records on Web 2.0 apps?
I'm not after examples of where you take social media records and store on internal systems (- that's a whole other subject matter!)
Please contact me off list if you can provide any examples I can discuss with you.
Many thanks for your assistance
Katharine Stevenson
