Dear MCGers,
We have three free training courses coming up in the new year, two of which are currently taking bookings, with the last open in a week or so. They are as follows:
Social Media Strategy, 26th January: This session will look at the use of a social media strategy. It will highlight a few different ways to think about a strategy, within the context of social media use, and it will discuss how museum collections can fit in and expand on that strategy. There will also be a few case studies from other museum professionals, looking at how their social media strategy fits with their museum's use of the platforms.
3D Digitisation, 10th February: This session will look at how and why cultural institutions create 3D models. It will also offer an opportunity for delegates to get hands-on with the tech, and create their own 3D models.
Taking Quality Photographs of Museum Collections, 15th February: This session will be focused on taking high quality digital photographs of your collections, for various purposes. The session will be very hands-on, but will also discuss some of the theory behind taking high quality photographs within a museum context, looking at aspects of lighting, the tech that you can use, etc.
You can currently book on to the Strategy and Digitisation courses via this link - http://www.museumoflondon.org.uk/corporate/about-us/museum-development-in-london/training-programmes/course-booking-form/ and Photographing Collections will be up within the next week, or so.
Any questions, please feel free to email me directly!
All the best,
Alec Ward
