Dear All,
I am looking for a postdoc for a 3yr MRC-funded project to investigate the molecular basis of autoimmune diseases triggered by bacterial infections. This work will be carried out in collaboration with Bela Bode (St Andrews), Richard Farndale (Cambridge) and Manfred Rohde (Helmholtz, Braunschweig). The project involves a combination of structural biology (NMR, EPR, crystallography), biophysical studies (ITC, SPR) and cell biology to elucidate the mechanism of collagen recognition by bacterial surface proteins.
Candidate
- must have been (or soon will be) awarded a PhD in structural biology, biochemistry or other relevant discipline;
- must have a keen interest in molecular mechanisms of infectious diseases;
- should be proficient in standard molecular biology, cloning and recombinant protein production;
- should have experience with structural and/or biophysical techniques, ideally biomolecular NMR.
