Are you interested in data science and modern day statistics? Do you have a background in Maths or Statistics? Do you want to develop the skills to become a future leader in the field of modern statistical methods? If so then apply to the EPSRC & MRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Next Generational Statistical Science: the Oxford-Warwick Statistical Programme.
OxWaSP offers at least 10 funded doctoral studentships in Statistical Science, 5 each at Oxford and Warwick. In 2014-2015, 12 students were funded to join the programme. Each student will be funded with a grant for four years of study. All students spend their first year at Oxford, developing advanced skills in statistical science. Years two to four are then spent at their host institution. For further information on applying to the programme at one or both institutions see information below.

EPSRC & MRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Next Generational Statistical Science: the Oxford-Warwick Statistical Programme (OxWaSP) is a new 4 year doctoral programme. Using a whole systems approach to data science and computational statistics as the catalyst for scalable statistical methods, the Centre will develop future international research leaders. Industrial partners include Novartis, FERA and Lubrizol.
We offer a transformative style of doctoral training, which provides an opportunity to:
- explore new research areas using modern statistical methods for data intensive environments
- experience and engage in peer to peer learning;
- be involved in cutting edge cohort based training;
- work directly with leading industry partners;
- receive exposure to 40 cutting edge researchers in two world leading departments; and
- make a real scientific and industrial impact with your research.
OxWaSP is funded by the EPSRC & MRC in collaboration with the University of Warwick.
The University of Oxford and The University of Warwick is a member of the Athena SWAN Charter and holds an institutional Bronze/Silver Athena SWAN award respectively, in recognition of its efforts to introduce organisational and cultural practices that promote gender equality and create a better working environment for both women and men.
