To the MEG/Biomag community,
For the Biomag meeting in Seoul (Oct 2016 http://www.biomag2016.org/) we
hope to arrange a data analysis competition as in the previous years.
The aims of the competitions are to:
- Make the audience aware of novel analysis approaches
- Elucidate the pros and cons of new techniques
- Attract signal-processing experts from outside the MEG field
- Encourage a discussion on cognitive/clinical insights a new technique
can bring about
We are looking for a few teams interested in organizing such a
competition (see below for examples). Such teams will
- define the scope of the competition and provide the data (incl.
setting up a website that will be linked form www.biomag2016.org)
- evaluate the proposal and find the winner(s)
- chair a session at Biomag2016 in which the outcomes are presented and
what has been learned.
Typically the competitions are really fun and very stimulating events.
They are a good way to bring visibility to your favorite analysis topic.
If you are interested please let me know before Jan 20 by sending a
rough draft of the scope. I will then discuss those with the scientific
committee. In case of more than two teams sending suitable proposals I
will ask the scientific committee to make a selection.
Best wishes for the holidays,
Ole
