Dear colleagues,
as recommended by Prof. Fallan from Oslo I contact you today with a
message that might be relevant to the readers of your mailing list, so
please let me introduce myself briefly:
my name is Patrick Roessler, I am a Professor of Communication Studies
at the University of Erfurt and have curated several exhibitions on
graphic design in the past, for - among others - the Bauhaus Archive in
Berlin, The Gutenberg Museum in Mainz, or the Classic Foundation in Weimar.
Together with my colleague Stephanie Jacobs, the director of the German
Museum of Books and Writing of the German National Library (DNB), we are
in the fortunate situation that we can offer a 18-month Fellowship to a
researcher for working on a research and exhibition project called
"Universal Pictures of the Human – Information Graphics of the 1920s
(Fritz Kahn / Otto Neurath)".
This project is funded by the Federal German Culture Foundation and the
fellow is required to be a Non-German person; for details see, please,
the enclosed call for applications. As you are one of the major
ressources in the design history field, we are hoping sincerely that you
will be able to distribute this call to persons which are interested in
this opportunity.
Please apologize this long email without advance notice, but our offer
is, at least according to German standards, pretty unique in the field,
so feel free to distribute it via your mailing list or on other
platforms that are relevant. Spread the word!
All the best from Germany,
Patrick Roessler
