Hi all,
It took me some time to get my head around DT. For a long time, even after it became a buzz word, I resisted the temptation to engage. Indeed on some public occasions I truthfully said that I did not know what it was. When I eventually found out (by accident), I was disappointed. It turned out to be nothing more than a small subset of what we used to call (and sometimes still do) Design Methods, but without the critical pragmatism that was to be found in journals like Design Studies.
In my opining (never humble), it’s the absence of history and critical pragmatism that will bring about the death of big DT. The big cause for concern is that it might kill the rest of us off too by way of collateral damage. http://communication.org.au/the-death-of-design/ <http://communication.org.au/the-death-of-design/>
