Dear SPM users,
I have been thinking on how to model an fMRI-task optimally, to capture relevant activity, without loosing power. The task consists of 2 types of picture (negative or neutral) and 3 types of instruction shown 0.5 s before the picture, which is shown for 5 s (time is jittered between events). For the negative pictures, all 3 possible instructions can be shown, but for neutral only one of them (a control instruction). I wonder if it is possible to model instruction + picture in one long event (5.5 s) and then somehow model separate time points during the event. We are interested to look at activity related to the instruction, as well as the onset of the stimulus picture and also during the later part of the stimulus. We have an idea of which brain regions will be involved and will compare this activity between groups of participants at 2:nd level. I heard mentioned that something like this should be possible in FSL, but I don’t know about SPM. Is it possible?
Thanks in advance!
Sandra
