Hi David,
We have been using this for a while now and the individual registration with the BL is not a problem, once they have registered. However there are some issues you need to be aware of, one of them indeed being the Chrome problem. The BL have said that they will update their covering instructions to make them more user friendly, but have not given a date for this, so in the meantime we have taken to including a troubleshooting list when passing on the sed to the customer, as follows:
* Register for BL 'On Demand' first, before clicking on the Download button, otherwise the download will not work.
* There is a delay between registration and being able to download the first time. Please allow 10-20 minutes before trying to download.
* If you are using Google Chrome you must disable the PDF Viewer.
* Make sure you have Adobe 10 or 11 - in some recent cases Adobe has not been working correctly and hasn't enabled access to the document.
* It may be worth trying a different computer to download.
I hope this is of use,
Thanks,
Saskia van Elburg

Subject: [lis-e-resources] Uses of DRM Lite?
Hi
I'm not sure if this is the right list but....
Has anyone moved over to the DRM lite access method to receive Inter Library loans from the British Library?
We are reviewing this option at the moment, but are rather concerned about our users having to have a separate username and password. In addition we understand there is a problem with using Google Chrome, as it has its own incompatible PDF reader? (Our research shows this is the most popular browser currently being used by our users?) Have these issues presented any major issues?
While I'm on the subject does anyone know the background as to why this service couldn't use the UK Access Management Federation solution?
Kind regards
David
