Fundraising for Archives – Expression of Interest
Fundraising for Archives is a development programme from The National Archives offering training for archivists and archive organisations to help them enhance their skills and capacity and become confident fundraisers. We want to invite you to join a small group of colleagues from the whole sector to receive a tailored programme of training, mentoring and fundraising support.
Fundraising for Archives is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Catalyst programme. The National Archives received a grant of £477,000 and aims to reach 188 archive organisations across the UK. We are working in partnership with The Scottish Council on Archives, Public Records Office for Northern Ireland (PRONI), Museums Archives and Libraries Division Wales (MALD), and the Archives and Records Association (ARA).
What we are offering you is first and foremost a skills development programme. Our vision is to transform fundraising in the archive sector, thereby helping to make the sector sustainable and resilient in the current economic and political environment.
Our trainers will work with you on diagnosing your level of needs and will design a programme to suit you. The trainers will ensure that their materials and delivery is flexible enough to be tailored appropriately for you and your services, and throughout the programme you will be given mentoring and support.
We are planning to run four groups in England, Scotland and Wales from January to June 2016 and welcome expression of interest for each group. We will repeat the programme in 2017.
