The Idox Information Service is currently recruiting to expand its pool of external abstractors.
We are an independent service, providing access to research and policy documents, translating them for the policy maker and practitioner on the ground. We are non-political and concentrate on content which is relevant to local authorities. A key part of the service is the production of abstracts of journal articles (print and online) and reports.
The service is based in Glasgow however the abstracting work is freelance and is done from home. Our abstractors are self-employed and invoice us for the work they do for us each week on a monthly basis. We offer £5 per abstract completed and can be flexible with the amount you do each week, and you can also be flexible with which days you work for us; a lot of our current abstractors are able to fit the work in around other employment.
