Archive and Digitisation Assistant – Part time, 12 month contract (with possibility of extension)
RCVS Knowledge is the independent charity associated with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), responsible for a unique collection of books, papers, artefacts and memorabilia which together offer an insight into the evolution of the British veterinary profession, and the lives of the members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
As part of a funded project to enhance access to RCVS Knowledge’s Historic Collection, the role of the Archive and Digitisation Assistant is to prepare archive and library material for digitisation, to scan using specialist equipment and upload the scanned images to the online digital archive. The role also involves working with colleagues to promote the project.
This role is ideally suited to a person currently undertaking, or about to start, a distance-learning postgraduate course in Archives management.
Type of employment: Part Time (27 hours a week, 0.8 FTE)
Salary: £22,000 (pro rata) + excellent benefits
Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)
