The Medical section of the Royal Statistical Society is looking for a new committee member for 2016.
Kindly note you need to be a member of the RSS to join. Details here http://www.rss.org.uk/join.
As an RSS section we organise about five meetings a year, usually an afternoon meeting around a theme with a number of speakers and a discussion. We also usually organise sessions at the RSS annual conference and support the annual Bradford Hill lecture. Our meetings are aimed to develop and support the application of statistical methods in all branches of medicine.
The committee meets around three times per year and RSS meets travel expenses to attend these, and we also conduct some committee meetings by conference call. Membership is usually for 3 years unless you take office, when further years are allowed. The main duties involve helping to organise one of the speaker meetings each year.
We particularly welcome applications from medical statisticians working in industry.
If you are interested in joining the committee please email a brief CV to [log in to unmask] by the 19th October 2015.
