Hello list, if anyone is in the New York area, I would be delighted to see
you this Thursday evening for a salon featuring the work of Gregor
Weichbrodt, a programmer, designer, and digital writer. Salons at my space,
Room & Board, are always open, but since Gregor's work is particularly
relevant to CRUMB's interests I wanted to extend a special invitation. The
salons are informal, convivial events where artwork is presented outside of
any institutional framing. We have quite a lot of fun.

The address is 153 Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, just two
blocks north of the L train.

Dear friends of Room & Board,

Please join us this *Thursday, October 29* at *7:30* for a salon evening
with Gregor Weichbrodt, our current artist-in-residence. Gregor, who is
visiting from Berlin, is a programmer and designer who pursues something
that his collaborator Hannes Bajohr, with whom he comprises the literary
collective 0x0a <http://0x0a.li/en/>, calls "digital literature." (Gregor,
however, maintains an experimental writer's mistrust of descriptive
language.) Please be timely, as the main event - beginning with a reading
of Gregor's elegant new translation of Franz Kafka's *Metamorphosis* - will
be at *8:30pm*.

This event is strongly to be recommended for anyone who likes books or the
internet. (Upon reflection, it is also probably a good idea for anyone who
hates books or the internet.) We will also have a selection of Gregor's
print-on-demand books on hand for perusal or purchase.

Hell of a season we've got here, folks: keep an ear and an eye out for a
performance of sound poetry by Swantje Lichtenstein, Marc Matter, and Antje
Vowinckel on *Wednesday, November 11*. And *Thursday, December 3* will
bring the first edition (!) of R&B's Armchair Academy, a talk by art
historian Bobby Brennan, who will present his research on the modern in the
renaissance.
