fyi... Very exciting looking conference at Lancaster.
Information on the conference: On Friday the 11th of December 2015 the Queer Futures research project will be holding a knowledge exchange conference at Lancaster University. At this conference, researchers will be presenting findings from the research study which has investigated LGBTQ youth self-harm, suicide and help-seeking for the past two years. We will then ask those attending the conference to discuss these findings with us to develop policy, practice and research recommendations which aim to reduce LGBTQ youth suicide and self-harm. These recommendations will inform the Queer Futures report to the Department of Health. The day has been designed to facilitate discussion between ‘experts’. We would particularly like to encourage young LGBTQ people, youth workers, social workers, LGBTQ organisations, health practitioners, health commissioners, teachers, policy-makers, academics or anyone involved with LGBTQ communities to attend. The conference is free to attend. Those who belong to or work for LGBTQ youth groups will have their travel expenses reimbursed. To book a place at the conference please click on the following link https://queerfuturesconference.eventbrite.co.uk and enter in your details. If you require further information, please contact Alex Kaley ([log in to unmask]). Please feel free to circulate this email to other individuals/organisations you think might like to contribute to the day. Best wishes Liz
