Hi Rebecca, I am nor a professional photographer nor a blogger but I am extremely interested in joining you. In exchange, I will document the event through pictures and audio, in case you are up to have recordings too. I can bring my equipment.
I have some experience in the museum field, gained between San Francisco, Italian Cultural Institute and the University of Sevilla -- CICUSlab. I am also a musician singer/songwriter, so that i deal quite well with microphones and audio stuff.
At the moment, I am working in the field of digital humanities as a Marie Curie Fellow, in the context of a big program named DiXiT, where 12 EU Universities work together in a research on digital editions. Due to the main focus on texts, I am missing the museum field much!
I am sure that this would be a great opportunity of leaning in an exciting one-shot full perspective of what is happening to the museum sector going digital, about which I'll write for sure (I occasionally write on blogs) though I can't promise to be the official blogger, as I am pretty busy with conferences, publications and other work stuff. I will surely share this experience though, as I think the DH and the museum community should work closely in touch, and, unfortunately, at least according to what I see, this rarely happen. For example, it would be really nice to write a paper about the state of the art in museums and the digitization of textual heritage, why they don't talk to each other?
If you don't find better photographers, don't hesitate to email back, I'll be very glad to come.
Best regardsFederico
