Dear MELCom UK members,
Please find attached the Agenda for our next meeting, which will take place on Tuesday 10th November at 10am in the new building of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS), Marston Road, Oxford OX3 0EE (Tea/coffee from 9.30).
I am also attaching a leaflet for the Pearson Memorial Lecture. Please feel free to disseminate it widely within your networks.
How to get to OCIS from the railway station:
By bus : there is a direct bus connection from the train station (stop R4) to Marston Road, by bus n. 13 going towards John Radcliffe Hospital. The closest stop to OCIS is the first on Marston Road. The journey takes about 20 mins, depending on traffic. Buses run roughly every 20 minutes (08.47, 09.07, 09.35)
Walking: The distance from the train station to OCIS is about 2 miles. Should you fancy a nice walk through Oxford, the easiest way is to go through the city centre.

The afternoon session will take place at the Middle East Centre/St Antony’s College (68 Woodstock Road, Oxford OX2 6JF). We are expected for lunch at St Antony’s College from 12.30. Please let me know if you have any dietary requirements.
The quickest way to get to the College from OCIS is by sharing taxis. I will take care of the booking nearer the time.
The Pearson Lecture will start at 2.30pm, and there will be refreshments after the Lecture, from 3.30. We should finish by 5pm.
From St Antony’s College to the train station, there is a direct bus connection with bus S3, running every 20 minutes from opposite Plantation Road, very close to the college.
On foot, the journey takes about 20 minutes. Directions here:
