Good afternoon,
As the Eventbrite booking draws to a close for this ‘modern metrics’ and ‘research impact’ seminar, we want to ensure that all members of the research community including librarians, bibliometricians and research administrators are given the opportunity to secure their attendance at this free event before the final places are taken and bookings close.
This event will be of interest to those involved in measuring and managing the research impact of the institution, administering and applying for research grants along with research support information professionals that manage the institutional repository or work within the library environment.
Helping you answer questions such as “How does our research stimulate social engagement and public debate?”, “How do I monitor research marketing efforts?” and “What tools can help improve the quality of our Impact Case Studies”, this information day is scheduled to run between 11:30am and 3:30pm (including Lunch) on 4th November.
The recent independent review on the role of metrics in research assessment and management (The Metric Tide) has stimulated significant debate in many circles. We will further such discussions and explore the implications of new metrics, reactions from key bodies such as HEFCE, and the future of research impact, e.g. REF, in an informal yet absorbing environment.
Please join us in Manchester on Wednesday 4th November as we take a journey through more than just Altmetrics, but rather a conversation about how you can analyse your research by ‘grant’ or by ‘department’, how you can obtain more of the story behind the attention given to your institution’s research output coupled with information to help you evidence how your institution’s research might have impacted the world outside academia, e.g. in the arts and humanities.
You can register yourself and any colleagues that wish to attend this free event via the link below:
