italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
The Ferrante’s turn in contemporary Italian literature – Session organized by Enrica Maria Ferrara (Trinity College Dublin)
Elena Ferrante has drawn impressive critical attention in recent years due to the number of questions that her authorship and her novels pose around the concept of subject identity, gender formation, representation of gender, cognitive and epistemic approaches, interplay of narrative and theatrical discourses, performativity, and so on. This round-table/panel seeks contributions (5-10 minutes each followed by discussion/roundtable) that will help illustrating the Ferrante phenomenon (including the enormous readership her books have gained in Italy and abroad) from a theoretical perspective. It will argue that Elena Ferrante’s success represents, in itself, a turning point in Italian culture.
Please send expressions of interest with a short abstract in Italian or English (250-300 words) and a brief bio to Enrica Maria Ferrara [log in to unmask] by the 25th October 2015.
Thank you and best wishes,
Enrica
