My client is looking for a GIS Manager based in Oxfordshire.
Salary: £35-40,000 depending on experience, 25 days holiday and flexible working day (not homeworking)
The role is to lead a team of GIS and CAD Technicians, and data managers; in particular to:
• Manage the development of GIS software packages
• Manage budgets and project costs
• Recruit, train and support staff
• Consult clients to ascertain project purpose, needs, information required etc.
• Support the compilation of tenders
• Ensure projects keep to pre-determined deadlines
• Advise on database design, data capture and maintenance procedures
• Implement GIS, CAD and data standards and workflows
• Implement data processes and quality assurance systems
It is essential that this person be experienced in and capable of leading and managing a team, in addition to having the following attributes:
• Experienced in GIS and in the utility, energy and infrastructure sectors
• Strong background in the fundamentals of spatial information use and the importance of ensuring good quality data
• Has a desire to find effective and efficient solutions to problems and complete tasks and projects quickly and efficiently
• Able to provide flexible and scalable solutions to maintain efficient data capture
• Experienced in database design (preferred but not essential), data capture and maintenance procedures, workflows, data processing and quality maps and associated reports
• Strong interpersonal skills including communication, leadership, planning, and organisation
• Experienced in GIS strategy, CAD Standards, quality systems and quality assurance processes
• Ability to develop GIS data standards to be used across the business, write procedure documents and provide GIS analysis and mapping support to the project teams
