My question would be: doesn't an 18 month contract seems a bit miserly
to attract an "enthusiastic scientific programmer with outstanding
programming skills" to join your team? How long was the grant awarded
for? In Universities usual practice is to offer post-docs contracts
for the length of the grant funding.
