Dear Sir or Madam,
The University of Sunderland is looking to increase its postgraduate offer with an MA in Historical Research. This would open for September 2016. We are currently conducting market research to ensure the course we intend to offer will be of interest. Could you please take a few minutes to answer the questions below? It should not take more than 5 minutes of your time. This would help the University ensure that it is putting forward a programme of interest to its prospective students.
The MA in Historical Research will coincide with the Government's plan to introduce postgraduate loans for taught MAs of up to £10,000 for students under 30. The MA has been developed to allow students to join on both a full-time and part-time basis. Flexibility in teaching modes is key to allow working people to join (both in class and online teaching; day and evening sessions; and independent learning). The focus is on research and the way in which this research is disseminated by professional historians. This includes the traditional dissertation but also the chance to organise a mino-symposium and to deliver presentations on one's research. These skills are essential and transferable in a number of professions. In addition, the MA would also feature some of the more traditional elements of a History MA (for instance modules by theme or period) which allow students to develop critical and analytical skills at a high level.

The survey will close on October 26th 2015.
Thanks for your time.
Best wishes,
Delphine
